Perennial Peanuts?
Anyone have experience with Perennial Peanut foodplots...particularly in central Florida? I would be interested in your observations on them and how they compared with other crops--growing season wise, game usage wise etc..

RE: Perennial Peanuts?
there is a large plot on US 19 south of Chiefland.I go by it every morning durning hunting season and have never saw a deer on it.
it spreads like wild fire , so if you plant it make sure thats what you want. I have heard deer love it,but have yet to see any on this plot. |
RE: Perennial Peanuts?
One question. Are these peanuts cold hardy? It seems that it is only for where frost is quite rare. Just wondering if planted in a small plot in a timber that the leaves/Pine needles would tend to control its spread. Where I'm at temp can reach 0° once every 2-4 years and have stretches of below freezing weather. I would assume that would cancell out any chance of using them here.
