RE: Ladino???

Ladino is type of clover. Usually high in protein but shallow rooted. There are a lot of ladino clovers. Each has a different protein value available at different times of the year and each has a level of sweetness as the same. It usually requires a heavy soil with a pH value of 5.5 to 7.0.

Cball..I use ladino clover here in mo. the deer love it, they will leave bean fields to come to it.
A word of advice if you want to plant red clover with it, triple your amount of ladino, if you don't the red clover will smother the ladino out, same with the alfa. It really takes two years to get a good stand of white clover. but don't be surprized if they eat all the white clover up first.

I'VE TRIED JUST ABOUT EVERY CLOVER YOU CAN TRY, AND FOR THE MONEY, I GET THE BEST BUY WITH JUST PLAIN OLE CRIMSON CLOVER. LOTS CHEAPER AND DOES BETTER THAN MOST OTHER CLOVERS HERE IN LOUISIANA.

RE: Ladino???

Isn't crimson clover treated like an anual? How often do you have to re-seed?

In upstate NY, the deer seem to really like Ladino clover - more so than red clover, or the smaller leaved white clover.
