P Nut butter for Deer?

I got several people tell me that they use p nut butter to attract deer and all claim it is real good. Has anyone here tried it? Nail the lid to a tree , screw the jar in and cut the bottom out of it. Spread some around the limbs some also. I tried it yesterday and set my cam out to see what i get. Will let you all know how it turns out. Good hunting

Around here a lot of guys use peanut butter. I' ve used it in the past and I know the deer were eating it but never had one come into it while hunting. Molasses will work also.

Got a question. Seeing as that is food, would that be considered baiting? Here in Miss. I may run into problems with it as baiting is illegal.

I' m pretty sure it would be considered baiting. The only thing I attracted with peanut butter was ants.

I bought acorn scent wafers today by HS scents and one of the food scents that they mention is peanut butter. Minnesota DEC found peanut butter to be the best deer attractent scent.

Bees like peanut butter too. Personally - I prefer a 2 acre clover plot to attract a few deer:D

I use peanut butter all the time. What I do is have a few hanging in my food plots. I have a few trees scattered throughout my plots so I take a piece of twin and tie it to a limb. I then cut holes big enough for the deer to lick through in the sides of a large peanut butter plastic jar. I cut a hole in the lid of jar and then run the twine through it and tie a small stick to it to keep the twine from pulling out the lid. Replace the lid on the jar and let it hang. Be sure to put it at a level that the deer can reach. The deer LOVE it!! Good Luck!! -- CDH
