Anybody Hinge Cutting?

In the last few months I have run across articles on hinge cutting. This is where you partially cut a small tree enough so you can push it over sideways. And hopefully, it stays alive. In doing this you create cover, let in light for smaller plants, and also channel the deer onto your trails by creating obstacles. Anybody doing this?

I wonder how much would be too much? I would think if there is too much done the deer might not like the lack of multiple escape routes.

Yep- Made about a half dozen mini hinge and clear cuts the past few months. The deer are eating all the buds off as we speak and the grouse seem to life it as well
