Default Pacific Northwest...small area

I am a total rook to this, so hang in there. My buddy owns a very small piece of land just on the edge of some old growth, and am curious what we could plant as sort of a ' test' plot? Is there a specific blend that would work best for the Pacific Northwest? I am in need of all the info....smallest possible coverage area that would benefit the local herd, etc..

Thanks in advance,

Chad--Oregon

Ladino Clover might work. Usually you have a lot rain, right? Ladino will probably grow fairly good as long as water don' t stand on it, then it may drown out. Know your PH? Clover needs PH near 7. You should get a lot more suggestions.

Your area might be prime for a good food plot. Can you work the soil and do the soil samples? We have had a few clients that had excessive pH in their soil...

I almost hate to ask, but by ' working' , can I assume you mean tilling/plowing it? How do I get the pH, is there a kit/test I can pick up at a garden center, etc.?

Thanks.

You are correct... Contat a lawn/garden or an agricultural co-op for the soil sample kit. Do a test for Giant White clover.
