Food Plot

I live in the southern part of the Adirondack Mts NYS. I'm in growing Zone 4 and would like to start some food plots in my area in the spring. What is good to plant in my area. I've been reading that clover is a good plot and wonder if anyone has tried the THROW-N-GROW I've read about.
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Clover

I live in Oklahoma so don't know if it would be perenial or not...but what we grew here was. It died down some in winter but came back. Dear love clover...fertile soil, not loam.

If you have the time and resources, atv and such,
Would recomend skipping the no plow stuff and spend the extra time prepping the soil.
I have used no plow seeds and they work great, but my land is remote woods and have limited tools, just used a rake to expose the soil.
With proper prepping can get 80-90% germination rate.
No plow throw and grow looking more at 50% rate.
You won't get those thick lush plots you see in pictures with no plow seeds.
