Solu-Lime

Has anybody used Sol_Lime? What was your experience?

I thinking about using it in my food plots.

Solu-lime looks very expensive to me. It looks like it is very finely ground limestone, that is why it reacts faster with the soil to raise the pH. Things on their label like "improves soil structure" could be said for any lime. Also, the calcium percentage in lime makes no difference, it is the carbonate that neutralizes soil acidity. I would consider some to initally raise soil pH (if you need a rapid pH increase), but mixing in regular lime with the soil will probably give better long term soil pH control at much lower cost.

After more research, I found to be price competive with lime. Using 1/4 as much gives equal results and much quicker.

I've purchased 2 30# bags @ $12 each to try in my food plots.

Currently my plots test high 5's to low 6's. I'm trying to get them in the low 6'sto mid 6's range.

I found the Solu-Lime at Southern States. Probably other cooperatives will carry it also.

If it works quicker, it will also not last as long.

You must have some little bitty food plots if 60 pounds is all you need.
