Weed killer question

What do you guys use to kill weeds in a turnip food plot?

What kind of weeds do you have? For grasses, try arrow and crop oil.

It has grass and thistles in it

Thistles might be a problem. If they are running up higher than the brassicas, mow them to prevent seeding out. There may be a chemical option, but not that I'm familiar with.

When do you plant turnips? I do it late august down here, but everywhere is different. Good thing about that is the frost gets your weeds for you.

I did an early plot to see how they'd grow. I planted it in April. I still have another bag of seed that I will probably plant in early July

the turnips are dying out - I'd disk and replant turnips or something else for fall.
Spring planted turnips aren't worthless - they help build soil and surpress other weeds - but cannot sustain May to Oct.
