Dang turkeys
A friend/client of mine has about 2400 acres of land that I hunt with a couple of more guys here in Florida. A couple of weeks ago me and another guy planted 7 food plots for deer. We added extra seed because of the turkeys. Today I went out there and I think the turkeys ate every single seed we planted, looked like a tiler had been thru there. In one plot there were over 20 turkeys in it and they didn't even run off when I drove up to the plot and walked out in it. I did get a nice 4 1/2 foot diamond back that was crossing the woods road.

Any tips on how to deal with the turkeys? I thaught about hanging pie plates from a tree in our plots or wind chimes. But i dont want to spook any deer with all the noise from the chimes. But i guess it wouldnt matter since we plant way before gun season

I tried aluminum pie plates tied with a sting to metal electric fence stakes several years ago. It worked for a couple of days, but not long enough. I usually just plant double the amount of seed and let the turkeys have their share, but these plots were 1/3rd acre or less and they ate all of the seed anyway.
