Alsike Clover

I was told I might have volunteer alsike clover in my food plot. Does anyone have any experience with this? Do deer like it? Will it pull deer from the neighbors red clover field?

RE: Alsike Clover

Alsike clover is an annual. Deer will feed on it It is put in some of these food plot mixes that are promoted for plots. I doubt if it will pull them from the neighbor' s red clover, but they will feed on it. The deer in my timber walk through my White clover to get to the Red. It should cause no problem, and will eventually will die out this fall with the frost. If you clip the blooms it may stop it from seeding out so it won' t regrow next spring.
