Cage Enclosures

How do you make a cage enclosure for food plots?

Just take some old 2x4 weld wire or any other kind of wire you may have and make a square box about 3x3x3 feet and put it in the patch. You can also take hog wire and make a circle about 4 feet diameter and peg the bottom down.

Like timbercruiser said, just a 10 or 12' piece of 4' welded wire fencing or some wire mesh for concrete. Drive a stake or two in the ground and tie it to it. Remember to leave the tag ends on one end of the fence section long so that you can loop it around the other side to close it up.

wow hoss, did you get any pod production on your beans in the picture?

hossdaniels 10-19-2010 05:04 PM

Heck no, at least not outside of the cages. These were for forage only, and primarily an experiment to see how small of a plot I could go with forage soybeans(I think I found the limit:cool:). I sprayed what was left and drilled in oats and brassicas until next summer.
