Farm land help

i am trying to turn a field that was let go for several yrs back to productive farm land i have brush hogged I dont know how plowing will doo w/ all the roots as as entire field had sapligs etc ranging in size a quarter in diameter to 50 cent piece would you try to plow and just walk over and pull out roots or is there an easier way

Plow it and leave it. The roots/saplings will decompose in 6~24 months. Maybe go through it with a boxblade with the shanks down and collect branchs/roots that stick into the shanks.

If you are in a hurry to get that place in production the roots can be torn out with a heavy duty chisel plow or a big box blade with the rippers down. Last fall i brush hogged a plum thicket. Took a box blade, extended the rippers and pulled the roots out. Not one sprout came up last spring.

harrow it while buddys or you pick up roots behind it and chuck them into the woods...its effective and most everybody has a harrow and gloves then i might bottom plow it

You shouldn't have any trouble running through it with a plow. Those little roots will bust right up no problem.

I would hit it with a good dose of Roundup Max from the farm store first this spring.

Hit it with round up or a good chisel plow.

I wouldn't use just Gly if you are going to spray. Mix in some Arsenal or something else for broadleaf's with a surfactant.
