Default Planting in Alabama

Is this Sunday 8/29 too early to plant in southeast Alabama? I'm just a little weary but it will be hard to find time to do it later. I guess maybe labor day, Monday 9/6 would be possible, but whats the negatives/positives of the two dates?

We always plant cereal grain plots around the last weekend of September and they are growing well by the middle of Nov for hunting. This year there has been abundant rainfall in south Bama, but many years we have to wait till we get some moisture.
