Fall Plot Question?

Im going to plant the first week or two of September. my food plot is one acre I want to plant ultimate fall mix(oats, peas, blue lupine), wheat, and some turnips. I have heard the ultimate fall mix will outgrow the rest of what i plan to? should i plant ultimate fall mix on one half and the wheat, turnips on the back half of the plot or just mix it in all together and see what happens? again my food plot is one acre rectangular shaped. thanks

Keep it separate. That way if you need to hit the turnips with some urea later on, you can. And you will also be able to keep track of what is working and getting hit alot easier.

I agree...keep them separate. Having variety with the forage that is in different stages of development will be appealling to the wildlife around your plot.

Good Luck!

i agree, separate,
until you see what they really like,
and when they start eating it, then you will know...
they like this in bow season, so i'll put it around my bow stand,
and they like this in rifle season, so i can put it further away...
and usually they are like kids in a candy store, and will eat the good stuff 1st, and you know you want more of that next year..2 acres?

also, dont forget to draw a pic to leave in your blind, of whats planted where...
and make some markers in the field..tree branch or whatever ...in case somethin doesnt take so well, you can do some research and figure what changes ya need to make to the soil for that particular seed.

hope you did your soil test!!!
