Hi guys i'm putting in a fall plot of oats very soon. I'm Spraying this weekend and next weekend i'm going to turn soil and plant if the weather starts to change, I need some rain i hate to plant when it's this dry.
What i was wondering is whats your thoughts on the Buck Forage Oats V.S the Trophy Oats? anybody ever use them and have any preference?
Thanks,
Any input is great

Cant say about Trophy oats, I have never planted them before. I do plant Buck Forage oats every year and have for several years. They always produce well for me. I use to plant Bobs oats and feed oats, but when a hard freeze came they would turn yellow and the deer would quit feeding on them. I'm not a big fan of the market type plot products, I use winter rye and Landino, Red, or Arrowleaf clovers in my plots, they are much cheaper and produce well. I do like the Buckforage oats. Your from Jefferson county OH, I have hunted there many times in the past, not gonna make it this year, but will be there next for sure. Ya'll have some very nice deer up there.

I've planted the buck forage oats for 3 years and they have done great every year. Last year we didn't get rain until 2 weeks after I planted and they still came up real good. Unfortunately Gander Mountain doesn't sell them anymore so I had to switch to a feed oat so we'll see how those compare.
