Our Food Plots - Pics

Here are our main food plots. One is clover and the other is turnips. I think they're doing pretty well. Especially since we've had very little rain lately.

My small plots in the woods are hurnting from the dry weather, however.

A lot of work, but paying off. My 7 year old son shot his first buck in that turnip field last year.

Good job! that looks like a good sized turnip plot. Hope you get some rain!

The plots look nice. The cooler weather has to come soon, right? That should help out your clover and turnips too.

We're getting 75 degree highs and lows around 58. Mostly sunny and no rain, though. I hope rain comes soon. It's usually wetter up there.

You fellers are lucky to be able to plant food plots so early. We cant plant until early sept because of the heat and low rainfall. I got burnt a few times planting in late august, had to replant, so I just wait till the second week in sept. now.

We had some trouble this year getting an early start. The turnip plot was plowed on April 24th. We ended up having the whole thing overrun with weeds. We had to plow the whole thing over again.

In the woods, I have several small plots. They were doing great up until the 1st week of July and now they are completely burned out. We need rain bad.

Turnips are now well over a foot tall. Leaves are probably 8" in diameter. The actual turnip bulbs are about the size of baseballs. The clover plot is doing just as well.

My woods plots are still struggling. The soil is poor and, with no rain, there's not much there for the roots. I'm bringing up top soil and new seed. I will replant and area about 15-20 feet square and focus on that.
