Help with chemicals
I need some help with what chemical i need for my working around my five acers. I have a couple of gallons of glysophate, for grass and i know pretty well what i can kill and control with glysophate. I have some arsenel which i use sparingly to hack and squirt, but am about done with that
Question is,,, what is my best option, for something that will kill or at least knock back, Foliar application, Yopon holly, very small oaks, smilax, and sweetgum sprouts. I enjoy kind of micro-managing my little homesite, and i will spend 10-15 minutes a day with a little spray bottle, spraying the leaves of things i dont want. Glosphate does not seem to do well on the above species. Whats my best option?? |
Mix in regular lawn dandelion killer (something with 2,4-D or Trimec) with your roundup. Soak the heck out of your targeted weeds with a hand sprayer, that will kill almost any plant alive and it is a cheap mix. If you have the cash, buy a gallon of dicamba from a local ag supply store. I have found that the glyphosate and dicamba mixture is better, but certainly more expensive.

Look at Tordon with a surfactant.

I give a vote for roundup and 2-4-D, thats what I use for pesky weeds and small hardwood trees, works very well.

Try adding some crop oil or surfactant to the r/u and 2,4-d mixture or even liquid dish soap. You need something to penetrate and stick to those tough waxy leaves. Round-up can take up to 2-3 weeks to work especially this time of year
