when do you cut clover?

i planted my clover in mid may and im just startinig to see some sparatic flowering. do i cut it now, or wait a week or so until i see more flowering of the clover?

I let it run up to 8-10", then cut it back to 6". Usually down here just needs mowing in the spring. The summer heat slows it down in late june.

Well how tall is your clover? Do you have alot of weeds like I do?

O.K., when its 8" tall, or weeds are starting to shade it out.

Cut it before it flowers, once the clover begins to flower the protein content of the plant is lowered because of producing seeds/ flowers. Cut it before a good rain to prevent it from burning or wilting in the sun.
Do not cut it to less than 8 inches at this time of year.

Deer like new growth I cut mine every few weeks and that is up here in Wi. when you mow it gets thicker. good to cut to 6" high. Try cutting every other row and see what are the best results you want nice green fresh leaves
