RE: Spray to kill some grass but spare turnips...
According to my herbicide bible Poast is the choice, but timing is a big factor. Grasses need to be 6 inches or shorter to get the best kill. The other choices are Dacthal 75W applied at the time of planting, Select 2EC is another choice. However this are restricted use chemicals.

I agree with Gregrn on the Poast recommendation. You might want to add some crop oil to your mix to increase effectiveness. Arrow is a generic form of Select that also works well. I don't think it is restricted in all states.
Here is a site that will give you some ideas on cost and uses http://www.keystonepestsolutions.com...x&cPath=10

Haystack I took a peek at that site, Poast is little bit cheaper on that site than what I pay for it here. Here in Arkansas if a person doesnt have a restricted permit there is very little that can be bought. Roundup or generic version, MSMA, or 1 quart of 2-4d is about all you can buy.

Poast, or Arrow will work. They work alot better with 1 qt of crop oil/acre added to the mix.Poast cost less up front, but based on recommended use rates, the Arrow is actuallycheaper to use per acre. ... and most users report better results with Arrow.
