Default RE: Homemade Mineral Recipes

I go to my local grain elevator and get a generic cattle mineral mix by the 50 lb. bag, and 50 lb. bags of trace mineral salt. I mix 2/3 mineral to 1/3 salt. The mix costs about $0.20/lb., and works like a charm. It's the easiest and least expensive way to mineral deer. Has most of the same stuff in all the expensive name brand stuff.

I typically put out about 2,000 lbs. of mineral per year. If I go with the name brand stuff, I'd have to give up a couple morgage payments!

Justin dont waste your time and money mixing your own mineral licks, just got to your local feed store and buy generic 50lb. mineral blocks for $6.00 each. They work just as good as any recipe out there and you dont have to waste time shopping for measuring and mixing the ingredients etc.

As far as how much you could put 1 block for every 50 acres, but 1 block for every 100 acres is fine. Pike
