RE: RR Corn without fertilizer

Twoacres is too large for the lawn fertilizer idea, it would cost a lot more than urea and a spreader from a co-op. Our research plots only get about 120 lbs/a of N, and we do get yields over 150 bu/a.Thatshould beplenty corn to keep your deer happy.

Do you have a co-op or a grain elevator in your area? If so, they will usually sell fertilizer in small quantities. Just go there with a 5 gallon bucket. That's what I do when I just need small quantities. 5 gallons of urea weighs around 60 lbs, and is around $12. It's 46-0-0.

Nothing like that around here that I know of-

I asked a few feed mills about urea- they said they could order it looking around $35-40 a 50# bag.

The local farmers must have some sort of source for their fertilizer. There's no way they could make money if they are paying $1400/ton for urea. Places that sell bulk fertilizer will also rent you those buggy type of fertilizer spreaders. They hold around 12 tons. Find a place in your area that has some of those spreaders and I bet they also sell bulk fertilizer too.
