Arrest Herbacide
Last year we put in a clover plot. It came in pretty well for year one, but there was a lot of grass in it. This year it looks like there is a lot of clover in there, but I see grass starting to come in again too. I am thinking about using Arrest from Whitetail Institute. It is about the only spray I can find that won't kill the clover.
Has anybody used it? I would be grateful for any suggestions or pointers. Thanks, Dan |
RE: Arrest Herbacide
There are several options other than Arrest for grass control in clover, and much cheaper. Select/Arrow is hard to beat, use 6-8 ounces per acre, plus crop oil. Poast is another cheaper option at 1.5 pints per acre. The grass should be 6 to 8" high for best results. When and if you decide to spray be patient it takes 2 to 4 weeks before the grass starts dying.
Keystonepestsolutions.com is a starting point, check your local feed-n-seed store before purchasing. |

Haystack,
Thanks, I was sure there was a good alternative to Arrest, but I wasn't sure where to start looking. Dan |
RE: Arrest Herbacide
DTK913, Depending on what type of grass you have in your clover, Arrow will probably do the best job. It is more expensive than Poast, but seems to do a better job for me. They are both cheaper than Arrest, but none of these will kill Nutsedge, I've done found out [:@] Make sure you use a surfactant/crop oil with these. I usually mix 8oz of Arrow to 20 gallons of water and 2 pints of crop oil per acre. Poast Plus has a surfactant already but don't seem to work as good for me. Good Luck! |
RE: Arrest Herbacide
Nutgrass aint all bad. Turkeys love it and it helluva lot cheaper than chufa. Poast and oil, cheap and it works.
