Default biologic ph meter

Has anyone ever used the biologic ph meter? if so what did you think of it? was it accurate? It seems like it would be more convenient than sending away a soil sample, but it also seems a little too good to be true. Just wondering if anyone had any experience with them.

I agree its best to have your soil lab tested, it will tell you how much and what types of amendments needed to adjust your soil, saving you money in the long run.

Here is link to a review that might give you some more opinions.

It is not as accurate as a lab soil test, and the lime rec would be very questionable. As mentioned, you will not get P & K test results, or any fertilizer recs either. I would send in a sample to a good certified lab in NY (or a neighboring) state. You should be able to get at least 2 lab soil tests with university proven lime & fertilizer recommendations, good for about 4 years, for the cost of that pH probe.

Thanks guys, you pretty much confirmed what I was already thinking. The lab soil tests really aren't that expensive, and the amount of information you get seems to outweigh the convenience of the instant reading you get from the Ph Meter. This food plot stuff is all brand new to me so I appreciate the input
