no till food plots

Default no till food plots

has anyone ever used evolved harvest no till easy plot or thow and gro. hows was it. and what should i do if i want to plant one in a crp field with the tall grass. should i clipp the grass first. is it ok if there is still a short grass on the ground when you plant it. thanks

Have not used that product. BUT, be very careful about putting anything like that in CRP. It is not an allowed planting and if you do get caught (which is really not too likely, but you never know) they could fine you and/or cancel your contract forcing you to pay back all monies received.

Years ago the USDA was much more lenient...not so much anymore. One of the reasons I'm thrilled that my last contract is up this fall.

i heard that you are able to plant something on like 2 acres of sumthin you choose. that what i heard anyway

No, but you CAN put 10 percent of your CRP acreage into food plots, BUT you have to go to the Ag office, file a crop plan to do it, and it has to be using only certain plantings. Years back it was much more lenient as to what you could plant...not any more!

Check with the Ag office and they can give you all the details. Otherwise you might want to consider putting a no till plot in some other area that is not CRP.
