RE: Powerplant?

i have not used it, but i plan on using it to help fence in the rest of my field from the road because we have been having trouble with people shining our deer... I have done quite a bit of research and it seems like it will do a great job growing and providing the nutrients and cover needed to sustain a white-tail herd..

I like Powerplant. I planted it two years ago and it grows THICK. Once it started growing, I never checked on it or step foot in the food plot and saw some of the biggest buck I have seen walk out of that plot during season. What I would recommend is to plant your food plot in powerplant and then when it starts to die, disk up 1/2 of the field and leave the other. When this stuff dies, it still is a thick mess. I will be planting powerplant again this year!

So, how long did the deer stay and eat in it? I would be planting in Ny and am wondering if the deer will keep eating it until mid december? I think Im going to do half of the field powerplant and half of something else... How well does this stuff grow without to much fertilizer or lime??

Thanks
Mike

Powerplant only holds food usually until early september, it will stop growing and but whatever food isn't ate, will be available. It is mainly a summer food plot holding the deer in there all summer. As far as deer eating it in december, doubtful. It will however be a great cover for deer to eat the other food you plant.
