need food plot help

i am going to plant a food plot this upcoming spring and i need some suggestions. my neighbor has a alfalfa clover hayfield and there may be some other grasses mixed in with it and its about 10 acres. my plot is only going to be an acre or so. what would be a good thing to plant that will last through a summer and last till the end of winter? i dont care if its perrenial or annual.
i was looking at trophy oats, imperial winter greens, evolved harvest realtree pro series Exceed, and evolved harvest realtree pro series shot plot.
help me out
thanks

Corn, beans, clover was probably the right answer! Dont fall for that store packaged junk.

What exactly are you trying to achieve with your plot?

Attracting deer during hunting season?

More food for them to get through tough winters?

Higher nutrition during spring for antler development?

Nope, nothing does all of that. Which do you want?

Iron Clay peas are like crack cocaine to deer. But they will MOW down the field FAST. Grows well till it gets a bit nippy outside.

Standing corn for hunting season is going to be hard to beat.

Try some turnips if you are short on winter grub. In NC they dont start eating them good till after the season though.

In my area deer seem to prefer soybeans over corn. I don't know if you are in a agriculture area or not. If there are no other beans in the area yours might not make it through the season, but if there is other beans and yours are still standing in the late season you should have some good late season hunting.
