food plot and mineral rock question

i planted a clover food plot and it is all pretty much dying and weeds taking over. i have a trophy rock in my plot as well. i wondered if i should just let the grass(weeds) grow real tall or should i continue to mow it?

mowing it will help keep the weeds under control. there's also herbicides that will kill weeds but not harm your clover. whitetail institute makes them. they're called Arrest and Slay. very expensive though.

I planted my clover plot mid-may and I have mowed it twice, the second time was today. I have a great stand of clover if I canjust get the grasses at bay. I am trying not to use the herbicides since they are so pricey. They saying mowing will do the trick, but it hasn't done much yet.

I've found that this time of year with all the crops up and stuff that deer won't make a special trip for the rock. I've caught a few on camera over a rock but my guess is they were just going by and happened to stop.

I honestly don't know, but leave the rock there. It won't hurt anything and it may bring some in. I don't deal with planting clover and stuff so I just put the rock on trails, fence crossings and in the middle of trees. Mainly to see whats out there and what time of day.
