Pictures of my rape and turnips

RE: Pictures of my rape and turnips
That is looking really good. I wouldn't worry about the turnips being too thick. Ours were really thick and the bulbs didn't grow all that big but there were a lot of them. My outlook on food plots is that I am not trying to grow championship plants. I am trying to grow a large lush patch of forage that gives deer something good to eat. Trust me the deer will thin out the turnips for you.

I would not worry about the density of the plants. You are raising forage which hopefully will be eaten regularly. The deer will eat the bulbs making room for the other plants to continue to develop.
The plot looks really good. Great job!
There is not a lot of ground prep needed for rape. You can over seed with it, but do not expect a dense crop like the pics above. If you clear the ground to the bare soil, compact it slightly, seed and then drag lightly to cover you can plant a plot rather quick. Lime and fertilizer will help increase the food plot success.
