what ph level should I be looking for for soy beans & milo? my plots are running 6.5 to 6.9.

6.5 to 6.9 are pretty good numbers. Are you going to add fertilizer? I read somewhere (and this is a rule of thumb) that you need to add 1 ton of lime for every 3 tons of fertilizer that you add to your field. The components of urea, dap, and potash can lower the soils pH.

The numbers psandhu is referring to - is that .......all else being equal....... fertilizer is acidic - and that as you add fertilizer to your soil - you need to compensate for the acidic effects - and lime accordingly. The rate might be right, I'm not sure - but it sounds feasible.

6.5-6.9 are super numbers - I grow beans & corn on PH of 6.0 - maybe even a little less!
