Killing a tree stump?

Any ideas on how to kill a tree stump? I have an Ash that I cut down on my property probably about 4 years ago. Every year, I get about 6 feet of growth from the stump which I also cut down. I'm going to be planting some fruit trees near it, but I'm afraid that this tree will be stealing nutrients.

Ideas?

Garlan 4 will do the trick. Do not use Tordon RTU, it will leach through the soil and have the possibility of killing your fruit trees..

50% roundup and 50% diesel on a hot day with no rain in the forecast.;)

Straight kerosene. Just drench some on the stump.
