food plot question

Has anyone did a food plot in Louisiana? If so, what type of seeds did you buy?

RE: food plot question

I live in GA and I have been using the same thing for years. It is a mixture of clovers-25% iron clay peas-25% and wheat-50%.Put out a little 10-10-10 about a week before you plant and drag it to cover it up. Once it starts to come up put a little more out ( too much will burn up the clovers). I generally plant about the middle of Aug. Get a soil test done to find out what your ph is, this will let you know if you need to add lime or not.
