Imperial No-Plow
 

I have never planted the stuff, but have a chance to buy some cheap. (100 pounds for $125) Has anybody else used it? How does it work? I'll have a chance to work the ground a little before planting...will this help?

I planted 6 acres of rape/clover about 3 years ago, and it's slowly thinning each year. Would it be good to seed this no-plow over the clover/rape after discing?

Will lime help?

A good deal is right. 100 Lb. is about $240.00 retail plus shipping, $59.99 for a 25 Lb bag. Check out the date on the label. We suggest that if you can spray the area or disk throughly and then cultipack you shoul have success. This stuff grows in the dark, no kidding. If you can lime and fertilize you will be ahead of the game and have you soil preped for next years perennial plantings.

I'd buy it too - Use it like an annual plot - but give it the full preparation. If you do not want to re-do the plot next year - maybe you would consider planting 3 lbs of Ladino per acre with the stuff (lunchbucket - can this be done OK?)

Thanks guys. I was considering either planting some alfalfa or clover along with the No-Plow. I will be able to lime...but just with bags, as nobody will deliver where I need the liming done.

I'll fertilize too. I had the soil tested when I planted the rape some years back...and I'll just use those numbers.

Yes it may be done... We suggest that the No-Plow be used in areas where the soil is 6.0 or lower. This will give the lime time to work in the soil. Also this product is great for the first time planter, quite forgiving...
