I've planted a number of areas on my land with the siberian pea tree (also known as carnuga)(sp?). and they work great as browse. Basically you get like a green bean pod on the bush which the deer love. Would highly recommend trying them. Check garden mags for seeds/bush, then after they get growing, you can take cuttings and transplant. Taz

taz,

Is there a bush and a tree? I did a search and found a garden supply store in Canada that has Siberian Pea Trees.Do you know ifthis the same as the "bush" you planted? Approx how long did it take to grow the pods?

Konk, I believe it would be classified as a bush. My oldest bushes are about 6' high after 6 years, and I doubt they'll get much higher. The first year you'll get some pod development, but year 2 and on, they really develop and the deer seem to go nuts for them. I have a bunch of 6' wire fence that I placed around the plants the first couple years so the deer wouldn't nibble them down to much. About year 3 you can start taking cuttings and really spread them out on your property to get nice "groves" going. You won't regret planting these! Taz
