Wolves in Yellowstone- Planet in Peril! Joke

I think anyone who hunts or ranchersthat deals with the wolf problem in Montana, Idaho or Wyoming needs to watch that farce of a show about the wolves of Yellowstone National Park. Anderson Cooper needs his eyes opened. We need to email him and open his eyes.They act like the eco system is great now that the wolves have taken out a few Elk and the singing birds are back in the park. They are so blind, why don't they addres both sides of the situation. Everywhere we hunt in Montana, the wolves are moving in more and more. The elk are not bugling back to you cause of the wolves. The wolf population is notonly a 150 in YNP, they should read the latest that thier are over 500 wolves living in and around the park. Wolves kill for sport, they will take down a pregnant cow and eat only the fetus and leave the carcuss. If the wolves are not a problem, then why is Fish & Game trapping wolves in the south fork (flathead Valley) during the archery season and relocating? :eek:They killed off the wolves in the early years for a reason! Everyone out their that hunts in the forest has had a encounter with a wolf or will eventually! In Canada you can shoot them and they don't have a problem. When ranchers are losing cows, sheep and the game are leaving areas you've hunted for years, what does that tell you. In Montana, we've seen this problem getting out of control, Be honest and tell the public the truth! Doug you can fly over YNP and count the Elk and say weve lost a few, try counting the cute fluffy blood thirsty wolves! Don't worry, you won't lose any goverment funding by being honest. Lets all protect our wildlife and farm animalsfrom the wolves.

Just because wolves are hunters too, doesn't mean they should be wiped off the face of the earth. I'm not saying their numbers shouldn't be kept under control. They were here in america long before any humans.

Cow elk (duh)in or around the park. If a wolf killed livestock, fish & game would shoot it, not relocate it They don't relocate anything from federal land. Have you ever hunted in Mt or Idaho's big scary forest! We have encountered griz, black bears, wolves, mountain lion all during archery season and only lost one animal to a Griz. So come to Montana and hunt with the wolves! Will take you on a non sugar coated adventure in wolf territory. We hunt were a pack of 10 wolves now live and the elk are thinning out or leaving the area. The elk have been in this range for 15 years!!
The only thing we whine about in Montana is all the Wisconsin license plates in Eastern Montana or Dillon hunting antelope, mulies or elk. We whine about bowhunters that don't know what their doing hunting in a forest, then you have to help them get out of the forest. Don't get me wrong, wisconsin has some great bowhunters. We met 2 great guys this archery season and they both tagged antelope.)

let me rephase this: Lets all protect our big game and farm animals from the predator wolf. 2 years from now where will all the big herds of elk be that live in the park? Hmm !Elk is the favorite food for wolves, know fact. Elk will not bugle back when wolves are in the area. The wolves need to be under control! I've never said wipe them off the face of earth. The wapiti were herlong ago also.

Wolves may hunt for sport , but we don't leave our game in the forest and walk away. We quarter it , pack it out and put it in the freezer! The sport of hunting is bugling that bull into 15 yards,seeing his eyes with his nostrils flaring and bugling back at you, or he'sraking a tree and he's thinking thewhole timeanother bullwant's to try and steal his cows away from him during rut.:)

Elk and wolves has coexisted for thousands of years, continuously evolving inwhat biologist call an evolutionary arms race. When one gets the upper hand, the superior traits of the other excelas the inferior get picked off andthe race continues. So what makes you think that all of a sudden that the wolf in going to wipe out the elk of North America? The worst case scenario is a natural predation cycle, must like a climate cycle. Some years will be stacked with elk, and others will be stacked with wolves. The Natives dealt with it so why isn't it possible now?

THERE SHOULD ALWAYS BE ALOT OF WOLVES !!!!
there should always be plenty of Wolves, Bobcats, Mountian Lions and Coyotes.
in any state and area where they have always naturally been located.
what i mean by ALOT is... a healthy Number for Nature to take its place.
of course.. all these animals should be managed, just as deer are.
there should never be too many, and if there is than the animals should be killed to maintain a healthy poppulation.

Wolves and Coyotes have NEVER been a Problem for wildlife.

The only people to start having problems are Ranches w/ Cattle, Sheep, Goats ect.. they are just easier to kill than a Wild Elk or Deer.
i do understand those people killing them, Livestock = Money.
but More often than not.. its NEIGHBORS DOGS Killing the livestock and people "thinking" its coyotes and/or wolves.
although im sure the Wolves kill there fair share.
