Soft Red winter Wheat?

Just a quick question. Do or will Deer eat the wheat? I accidently picked up a bag thinking it was shelled corn and can't return it. So I was wondering if it was worth putting out for the deer. Thanks for all your help.

It depends what else is available at the time. Might be better off planting it as a food plot, once the rest off the forage and mast are gone they should hit it.

They will eat it, but it isn't something you want to feed them a lot of.

It comes up very easy, so you might try just scattering it out along a trail or in a clearing. Deer like the young plants. You don't even really have to till it in. You can just scatter it out across the ground, and take a yard rake and rake over it just enough to scratch the dirt.

north texan is right, better to scatter on the ground in hopes of seeding rather than feeding it freely tothe deer.
