wheat,turnips and oats

Is it to late to plant turnips and oats? I have plans to plant on labor day and then pray for rain. Any tips for a first timer. All plot sites are very sunny and is good river bottom ground. i figured that you could plant wheat anytime before frost.thanks mike

I planted some wheat and turnips 2 days ago. You should be fine if you have some moisture.

I planted about 10 acres of turnips 3 years ago and I never saw a single deer eat one.

This is in an irrigated field with baseball stadium lights in it that I saw 25 deer move through to an oat field, and protein and corn feeders every night.

I had a LOT of turnips.

I know deer love them in other places.

I think my deer are weird.
