Whats the best ANNUAL to plant?

I have 3 different brands of perennial blends planted (for experimental purposes), but next year want to also plant an annual or two. What are some really good annuals i could plant that grow really good and the deer absolutely love. Thanks

Actually to add to that, how is Tecomate LabLab? That looks like a real nice one. Anyone use it?

it depends on where you live and what all other forages are freely available for the deer in your area. ex: it wouldn't do much good to plant half an acre of beans or corn if a farmer down the road has 640 acres of it.

I would say soybeans, regardless of what your neighbor has. He will harvest his, if you leave yours standing, the deer will flock to them. They are also easy to overseed with turnips/rye/oats/wheat.

I would say annual rye. Hands down, the best for me...

Rye for FALL planting, Soybeans for Spring Planting.

I'm not sold on Brassicas yet.

Plant a later maturing soybean for your area. This will allow the soybean to stay green and attractive longer and your summer plot will reach full potential. As stated earlier, leave the plants standing and broadcast a winter mix into the soybean stand before the leaves fall. You will have 2 crops in one once the rains hit and the wet leaves germinate your seed.

WW is a good choice, however the percent of protein in WW is 24.9% vs 23.6% in rye. Neither you or the deer will be able to notice the 1.3% difference.
