new food plot question

I planted my first my first food plot (2 acres) on a newly purchased farm (IN VA) this year. I planted it in a bottomnear a meduim size stream next to a200 acre patch of 7 year old planted pines. I drilled sorghum and broadcast corn, beans and Lab LAB.

I know one of my first mistakes was i seeded the sorghum to heavy and made the mistake of reading the lab lab instructions for planting I should have seeded much heavier.

The long and short of my plot is now is sorgum thick with and my corn is perfect and about 7 feet tall. the sorghum is about 4 feet tall in the and starting to head out. The lab lab and beans are there but not very thick due to the sorghum being so heavy. Its kinda like a jungle.

My questions are as follows?

Anyone had success with sorghumand corn togather, becuase I feel like that what i got is better for rifle season.

I have thought about bush hogging say 4 or 5 strips 10 foot wide and planting clover and peas and winter wheat? or one of those Max Attract mixes? This should help me bow hunt the edges.

allthoughts are appreciated!

RE: new food plot question

Do deer like sorghum that much? I would probably bushhog/disc some strips and plant oats and a white clover in September.
