Checked my clover , yeaterday
 

Last fall we moldboard plowed a piece of ground , limed it, and drilled it in wheat, I then overseeded it in clover, I didnt like the looks of the seed, they were a little aged, so I overseeded it again this March. Last month we mowed off the wheat adnd yeaterday 7-3 I rode back and the clover is as rank as I have ever seen , it was up to my knees and the farmer said it is the best crop of clover that farm has ever had in over 60 years, sure made me feel good... Deer are hitting it and hitting the corn in the adjoining field. Looks like a fun fall coming up, we'll see...

Our clover food plot is doing well, but I think we are going to have to mow it down soon because the plants are getting tough stems.

How many Acres Ron? Its great to see a plot that really exceeds expectations.

Sean, it is 10 acres , a piece of CRP ground... I used 50# clover seed each time I seeded it.... Apparently the seed weren't as bad as I thought....
