Big plot project!

Well I just thought I would share the project I started this past fall. This is my biggest plot to date, I have planted smaller ones to see what grows good and what the deer like!

Here is the 1st stage, cutting/discing the quack grass!

Then the plowing.

This was done last fall, we let it sit all fall and thru the winter. I turned it and hit it with a disc this spring!

This is 2 weeks ago. I decided to make the plot even bigger. Once I decided what I was going to plant, there wasn't enough room! The left is what I turned over last fall. The right is what I turned over 2 weeks ago. I will let this side sit and rot thru the summer and plant Rye in the fall. The Rye seems to really kill off the weeds and quack grasses very well!

I'll be planting RR Soybeans, Corn in this plot and pumpkin. I have other smaller plot with Clover and Biologic Premium Perennial and Rye. I'll be going up to the cabin Memorial weekend and put the seed in the ground! I'm looking forward to the results!

Here is another pic. I have in the Tube a Sawtooth Oak(Gobbler Strain), the little orange marker flags are Hazel Nut bushes and to the left of the picture, not marked are 3 Crabapple Thicket bushes! The row is planted with White pine and small Olive Bushes! This plot should be good and secluded in a few years with plenty of food available for the Wildlife!
