Question Corn Planter PLates
 
i have a JD 290 John Deere Corn Planter and have 2 set of corn planter plates which is b-16 and b-24 the . And bought a bag of Medium Corn Field from National Wild Turkey Federation cost 5.00 a bag last year. Last weekend i took it test if running drop the seed on b-16 and problem it didnt went drop not much. check the seed has round not flat.... and match the seed to plates is not correct Please help me should buy soybean plate ?? what size of plates anyone have experince with it ???????? Very soon plant on corn Help[/align]__________________

I think the soybean plates will put out too much seed. I would get another bag of flat seed to match the plates. That would probably be the cheapest route.

Take your seed and the plates you have to your local Deere dealership, they can match up the correct size plates.

The seed bag will have a list with different makes of planters and what plates you should use in your planter.

the local grain elevator here has about 2000 different seed plates you can rent. they are free if you buy their seed
