Thicket Crab Apple

I recently picked up some Thicket Crab Apple bushes from Morse Nursery and was wondering if anyone has planted these or any Crab Apple trees for that matter and had any Luck?? Do the deer like them?? I will be putting them around one of my plot as a border!

Deer and turkeys really like them. We have wild crabapples or hawthorns around here. The trouble with ours is they usually mature before the bow season.

ive never seen an actual apple BUSH. thats pretty neat. my guess is that wildlife would really love them. it will add cover for smaller game as well as food for everything. alot of animals from deer and turkey to grouse love crab apples. good luck with them

I found them interesting, they said the fruit stays on into spring if the deer doesn't clean it all up. I will not be able to actually plant them in the ground for a few more weeks because of the cold weather in Northern Michigan. The bushes are already growing, must of been a foot in the past week just in the root trapper container, can't wait to see what happens in the ground!
