Di-Calcium Phoshate?

I have not been able to find it here in Dallas. Anyone know who makes it or where in TX it can be purchased?

Thanks!

Are you going to use it as fertilizer? I use Dolomite to sweeten the soil up!

Thanks for the follow up. No, I noticed on another recent thread as part of the home made mineral licks.

Why is this stuff so hard to find. Some guys can get 50lb bags, and i can't find it in my area.

try an agway feed store. also i was told that monocalcium phosphate is what the pen state deer researchers use. i dont know the difference but it looks the same. i think its around 12-15$ dollars.

Di-cal is commercially associated with dairy cows. I failed getting it at the local farm supply (they had no clue) until I told them it was a food supplement, not a fertilizer.

Ican get50lb bags at Agway here in PA.

Make sure you mix it with salt/mineral salt or the deer won't go near it. May also want to add in an attractant like dried mollasses or sweet lime.

Dolomite is 100% pure magnesium carbonate. What you really mean is you useground limestone that contains maybe 5 - 12% dolomite. Commonly called "dolomitic lime.

You should be able to di-cal at any MFA co-op or any other farm co-op. I have found here in Mo that the tractor or commercial farm supply stores usually do not carry it.

If you areusing this for a minerial lick, be carefull with the dried molasses. check your baiting laws. Here in MO I can put all the salt, trace minerial, and dical in the ground I want and hunt over it. But the minute I add dried mollasis it becomes baiting.

Not trying to tell you what to do, just giving you a heads up.
