Is it Legal

I was wondering about planting a food plot on public land , is it legal to do that ?
If so my next question is what to plant for turkey and deer , the area has some holling hills ,clear meadows , thick hardwoods and marshy swamp areas.
Any recommendations would be helpful , thanks.

In Michigan you have to get permission from the DNR first. Or at least you are supposed to get permission first.

Oh .... cool I didn't know that , do you think they will allow me to plant a food plot ? I see your from Bay City .
Do you hunt up north or have you hunted down here.

I didn't mean to indicate that it would be easy to get permission from the DNR. And of course even if you do get permission you are going to have to share the area with any other hunter that happens across it.

I do most of my hunting in Bay County, that and an annual trip to the UP.
