Choose my food plot
#1
Okay, i have190 acres. 180 is in timber and 11 in food plots. the food plots consist of the following in descending order: 5 acres-Corn/beans, 1 acre-clover, 1 acre-wheat, 1 acre-Alfa Rack, and 1 acre-oats. I have a one acre field left to plant.
What would you put in the last plot to complete the farm???? I have been considering lablab or brassicas but, I am open to anything that will help the deer nutrition.

Here some folks use deer turnips and the deer hit them hard after cold weather sets in. Eating the tops first and then pawing up the turnips to eat after the tops are all gone.

I would go with the lab lab because of it's high protein value....I would also Add Chicory to the Clover and alfafa fields by over seeding, this will help the plot life and give you fall attraction value to the plots....

Thanks for the suggestions. I am going with the labl lab.
Tim, I know our alfa-rack has chicory in it but it would probably help our clover. Can i frost seed chiocry this winter?
