One less coyote
 

this is one of 7 coyotes my brothers son- in-law see on the way to a beagle trial,this one ran in front of his car.He said it was the size of a German Shepard.
No small wonder the deer population is taking such a pounding in this area[:@]

Nice size & color -

We've got a bunch too - I saw a big one Saturday Morning but couldn't get a bow shot. I've decided that they don't take as many deer as some think though, at least not on our property. Sure they take some - but we had pleanty of twin fawns this summer - lots of deer and more coyotes than ever. I'd still take them when I can - but I've come to appreciate them as part of the ecosystem too.

YaI think your right about the fact that deer aren't their main food source but it's also a fact that their natural predators are wolves, of which there aren't any ,around here anyway.
So for our area they are getting way out of control .

while hunting a couple weeks ago in southern wisconsin, my brother said he saw a limping deer walk under him and into the woods nearby. about a half hour later he saw 4 coyotes, evenly spaced out working there way through the woods after the deer. He said he tried to get a shot with his bow...but they were too far. I myself have a hard time shooting them...seing that they can't be used for much. Do you guys think they really impact the deer heard that much?

i've lived by "i don't shoot what I don't eat". my reasons: arrows are very expensive and I have no idea what to do w/ a dead coyote. leave it there???? But, it sounds like there are getting to be too many coyotes around.I think I've changed my mind and would take a crack at one.

Being that they don't have any natural predators in most areas, I say cork'em all:)
