rape

Here in PA we usually plant rape in late july. Can I plant it in the spring as a summer crop?If so will it go to seed by the time fall rolls around and the first frost hits?I understand the deer don't hit it when it goes to seed.

Here is a good read on the rape plant and answers some of your questions. Can't help you much from my experience as I just planted my first this year on September the 11th. It is doing great, Just waiting for a freeze to see if the deer really eat it. I sure hope so.
