Is it too late to plant a fall food plot?

I'd like to plant a quick plot of winter wheat or turnips or something this weekend-would I be wasting seed? It's frosted a couple times around here in Whiteside Co already. I would be planting in McDonough Co, not sure if it's frosted down there yet. Any opinions? Thanks!

Not an expert , but since you've already had a frost or two my guess would be yes it's too late .

Yeah, may be too late where ever you are. We planted 13 plots of Buck Forage Oats today, but it was 78 degrees.

The temps here are still getting up into the 50's during the day/35-40 during the night, that's why I kinda wondered if it could still be warm enough.
