Slow Clover, height question?

How tall should ladino clover be after 3 weeks since being planting and 2 weeks since the first rain?

Good, I was beginning to worry. Mine is a little thin and only about 1/4" to a 1/2" tall. Would it hurt to mix it with some fast growing Rape and Turnip Brassicas this fall, say spreading in this weekend. I bought a 1/2 acre bag of shot plot, it is supposed to grow the brassicas 24" within 45 days, should be just right for early November.

Fall planted clover is usally very small - unless you are further south. It should establish and come on strong next spring.

You can overseed a Rye or Brassica now- but it will take away some from the clover's establishment. I'm not sure I'd do it know - Maybe Prepare another plot and try them there - Its getting late for a brassica plot.

If it was me...I'd plant rye...Try taking an aireator and running over the plot and planting rye..it comes up fast, and deer will be on it withing 4-5 weeks...After you spread the rye, run over again...

I would NOT plant Rye with the clover, Plant the rye somewhere else & till it under next spring befor it gets out of hand,

I ended up mixing in some winter wheat in the thin areas and planting some fast growing rape and turnip brassicas with it as well. We got plenty of rain afterwards, I'll keep you guys posted.
