chicory ?
Does anybody else have chicory planted. I have a small plot behind my house. The deer have devoured it, all that is left is green stems with no leaves. I want to know if it will come back from this or will I have to replant? Will fertilizer and or water help?

Yeah chicory will come back but, not as thick as when you first plant it. At least not in the plots I have planted. I planted my first chicory plot 3 yrs ago and its still growing today but, not nearly as good as when I first planted it. Awesome stuff though deer just love it.

If it is nothing but stems then it got hurt. Some will come back, but you may want to over seed in the late summer or early fall with more to help it fill in. Chicory germinates real fast so a late seeding should help a bit for this fall as well.
